November at Twin Hills

It’s official, the holidays have begun and it’s finally looking like fall.  It’s chilly but it’s not too cold yet to play a round or two of golf.  Call the Pro Shop for a tee time and come out while you still can.

Our Children’s Halloween Party was combined with Sunday Brunch on October 26th and we had such a great turn out.  The food was really good and everyone who attended had a great time.  We had a special buffet just for the kids, pony rides, face painting, paint a pony, a super cool moon bounce and treat bags for all the kiddos.  Despite the wind, it was a really fun day.  Thank you to all of our members and their guests for participating.  We appreciate you!

The Ladies Club Championship was on Saturday and Sunday, October 25th and 26th.  Our new ladies Club Champion is Sally Hasenfratz and Kathy Willingham won low net.  Congratulations ladies!!

HEY DON’T FORGET…Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 2nd.  Remember to set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night the 1st or you’ll be an hour early for church.

Veteran’s Day is Tuesday, November 11th.  If you know anyone who is a veteran or is currently serving our country, please take the time on this day to thank them and also take a moment to remember those who are no longer with us.  It is these men and women who have made and are making the sacrifices necessary to help keep our country safe.  Thank you so very much for your service.

Preparations for Thanksgiving have begun and it will be here before you know it.  If you don’t want to cook, we can do it for you!!  Thanksgiving “Orders To-Go” forms were mailed out in your last statement and are also available at the front desk in the Clubhouse.  The deadline to place an order to-go for Thanksgiving is Friday, November 21st.  All orders to-go must be picked up no later than 12:00pm on Wednesday, November 26th.  Or if you’d rather skip all the mess, you can join us here for a very special Thanksgiving Day brunch on Thursday, November 27th from 11:00am until 2:00pm and leave all the cooking and cleaning up to us.  All you have to do is call and make a reservation.  This will be a very busy day here, so please call early.

PLEASE NOTE:  All facilities will close at 3:00pm on Thanksgiving Day.  The North Porch will be closed on Black Friday, November 28th, however, the Grille on the lower level of the Clubhouse will be open as usual.

Make plans now to join us on Sunday, December 7th from 11:00am until 2:00pm for our Children’s Christmas Brunch.  Santa will be here to wish one and all a very Merry Christmas and will have treat bags for all the good little boys and girls.  The India Shrine Clowns will also be here.  Don’t forget to bring your cameras and please remember that a reservation is recommended and greatly appreciated.

Jerry Broughton, our course Superintendent, and his crew have completed top dressing and over seeding the fairways, tee boxes, collars and surrounds so you’ll continue to have plenty of green grass to play on for the rest of this golf season and on into the spring.  It would, however, be very helpful if you would replace your divots on the tees and fairways or repair them with the sand provided.  We would also like to ask for your help while on the driving range.  If you could please leave a space between your divots, it will fill in and heal faster than if you use the same spot over and over.  Your efforts will help in the healing process, as well as, the overall aesthetics of the course.  We thank you and remind you that if you have any questions, Jerry will be happy to answer them or discuss any concerns you might have.  Thank you for your help and support.

Do you need to plan a party, special dinner, wedding and/or reception, social event, business meeting or shower?  Have you thought about your holiday party yet?  We can help, just call Sherri Mann, Event Coordinator, for more information and/or to book a date.

If you know of anyone interested in becoming a member, please contact Paul Hughes, our General Manager, for more information.

Have a great day!
