October at Twin Hills

Looks like we’re going to have some nice weather for the month, so call the Pro Shop for a tee time and maybe a lesson or two.  You’re never too old to learn new things.

We had a great Labor Day weekend here at the club.  The weather looked a little questionable at first but everything turned out great.  We only had one participant; and subsequently the winner, of the yacht race, Abigail Stemmons.  Congratulations Abbey and thank you to all of our members and guests for coming out and spending the holiday with us.

That’s right, flu season is right around the corner.  Value Med Pharmacy will be here on Wednesday, October 8th from 10:00am until 12:00pm in the Card Room just across from the Shine Room located on the lower level of the Clubhouse for anyone wanting a flu or pneumonia shot.  The Flu shot is $25.00 and the Pneumonia shot is $65.00.  Get a shot then join us for lunch.  Easy, peasy!!

Don’t forget, National Boss’ Day is Thursday, October 16th.  What a great day to bring your boss to the club for lunch.  The lunch buffet on the North Porch is available from 11:00am until 2:00pm and lunch is available any time in the Grille on the lower level of the Clubhouse.

Hey, make plans now to join us on Sunday, October 26th for our Halloween Brunch from 11:00am until 2:00pm.  We’ll have a special buffet just for the kids, pony rides, face painting, paint a pony, a moon bounce and treat bags.  It’s going to be a really fun day, so call the Clubhouse to make your reservation soon.

Other events in October include, Couples Twilight Golf and Dinner on October 9th and the Ladies Club Championship on Saturday and Sunday, October 25th and 26th.  For more information on these events call the Pro Shop at 427-3947.

Thanksgiving will be here before you know it.  If you don’t want to cook, we can do it for you!!  Thanksgiving “Orders To-Go” forms will be mailed out in your next statement and will also be available at the front desk in the Clubhouse, or you can join us here for a very special Thanksgiving Day brunch on Thursday, November 27th from 11:00am until 2:00pm.  We’ll do all the cooking and cleaning up so you won’t have to.  All you have to do is call and make a reservation.  How easy is that?  This will be a very busy day here, so please call early.

Jerry Broughton, our course Superintendent, and his crew have completed top dressing and over seeding the fairways, tee boxes, collars and surrounds so you’ll continue to have plenty of green grass to play on for the rest of this golf season and on into the spring.  It would be very helpful if you would replace your divots on the tees and fairways or repair them with the sand provided and we are still asking for your help while on the driving range.  If you could leave a space between your divots, it will fill in and heal faster than if you use the same spot over and over.  Your efforts will help in the healing process, as well as, the overall aesthetics of the course.  We thank you and remind you that if at any time you have questions, Jerry will be happy to answer them or discuss any concerns you might have.  Thank you for your help and support.

Do you need to plan a party, special dinner, wedding and/or reception, social event, business meeting or shower?  Have you thought about your holiday party yet?  We can help, just call Sherri Mann, Event Coordinator, for more information and/or to book a date.

If you know of anyone interested in becoming a member, please contact Paul Hughes, our General Manager, for more information.

Have a great day!
