June at Twin Hills

Good Morning and Happy Father’s Day!!!

It’s been a little late in getting here but it looks like 90F + weather is on its way.  So before it gets too hot, call the Pro Shop for a tee time or two then cool off in the pool while the water is still cool.

Mother’s Day was Sunday, May 10th and we had an excellent attendance for brunch.  Thank you to all our members and guests for sharing this day with us.  We hope you enjoyed it.  Thank you also to our staff for the terrific food and service.

We had an enjoyable evening at the pool on May 15th with the fantastic sounds of Edgar Cruz.  The hors d’oeuvre buffet was really good too.  This was a perfect opportunity to get acquainted with some of our new members, as well as, visit with some of your old friends.  Don’t worry if you missed it because we are planning another one for June 27th.  Keep reading for the details.

The Swimming Pool opened on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th and all facilities were open.  We started with a breakfast buffet on the North Porch but due to the weather, we were unable to have our DJ and games at the pool.  We are hoping for better weather for the 4th of July.

Swimming Pool hours for the season will be Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00am until 8:00pm and Sunday from 11:00am until 8:00pm.  The Snack Bar hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00am until 7:00pm and Sunday from 12:00pm until 7:00pm.  The pool managers this year are Ruth Preslar and Andrew Shaffer; whom many of you already know.  Both have been a lifeguards here for several years and will do a great job managing the pool.  If you have any questions or concerns, they will be happy to address them.

Don’t forget we have those awesome cabanas available at the pool, so if you haven’t yet taken advantage of them, call Sherri Mann in the clubhouse for more information and/or to reserve one.  Cabanas may be rented for a full day or just half a day.

Speaking of the pool, we would like to ask all the parents of little ones to help keep the swimming pool safe and clean by using appropriate swim wear and/or swim diapers to prevent accidents in the pool.  An accident results in the immediate closing of the pool and chemical treatment for 24 hours.  A few precautions are all it takes to ensure a safe swim season for every one.  We would also like to ask for everyone’s help in making sure all of your little ones are safe by watching your speed when entering and exiting the property.  As we all know, it is sometimes very hard to see them around the cars in the parking lot.  So please drive slowly and help keep your children safe.  Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Golf events in June include our Junior Golf Summer Clinic & Program on Tuesday through Thursday, June 2nd – 4th, the Men’s Member/Member on Saturday & Sunday, June 6th & 7th and our 3rd Couples Twilight Golf and Dinner on Thursday, June 11th.  For more information on these events, call the Pro Shop at 427-3947.

Rhythm & Blues night at the pool is Saturday evening, the 27th of June from 7:00pm until 10:00pm.  Join us at the pool for another fun and relaxing evening listening to the sounds of The Burton Band.  Charles and Barbara Burton were inducted into the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame in 2001 and have been entertaining audiences all over for more than 40 years.  The $25.00 per person cover charge will include hors d’oeuvres and well as the entertainment.  Bar service will also be available at regular member prices.  Please remember this is for our adult members only.  You won’t want to miss this one so call today and let us know you would like to be a part of another really cool event here at your club.

The 4th of July is right around the corner and will be a really great day to spend here at the club.  Make plans now to join us all day beginning with breakfast on the North Porch.  Then you can spend the afternoon relaxing around the pool listening to all your favorite tunes played by our DJ (Jason Clark).  We’ll also have fun and games at the pool for the kiddos.  In the clubhouse from 5:30pm until 9:00pm we’ll have a fantastic BBQ Buffet and then head outside for some awesome fireworks.  Don’t forget chairs, blankets and bug spray.  If you plan on joining us for the BBQ Buffet, we ask that you please call the clubhouse and make a reservation.  Thank you and see you on the 4th!!!

Twin Ding, our annual member/guest golf tournament is also coming up in July.  This year it is scheduled for Wednesday through Saturday, the 15th through the 18th of July.  Call the Pro Shop for more information and watch the newsletter next month for more details.

Jerry Broughton, our course Superintendent, and his crew are busy preparing the course for the summer golf season.  We thank you for your patience, understanding and support of his efforts to provide the best possible playing conditions for you and your guests.  We would like to ask all of our golf members to help our maintenance crews by repairing ball marks and a divot or two while you are on the course.  A little help goes a long way and they would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks again!
