Now that school has started, it’s time to look forward to the holidays, because before we know it, they’ll be here.  Hopefully we’ll have a nice fall before the cold weather sets in.  So call the Pro Shop for a tee time or two or come out and enjoy a few more days in the pool before it closes for the season.

Labor Day is Monday, September 1st and all facilities will be open.  Make plans to join us all day either on the course or for some fun in the sun at the pool.  We’ll begin with a breakfast buffet on the North Porch from 7:00am until 10:30am and the Grille will be open all day beginning at 7:00am.  The swimming pool will open at 10:00am and close for the season at 8:00pm.  We’ll also have our DJ, Jason Clark, here from 1:00pm until 5:00pm and lots of fun and games for the kids.  Want some more fun?  Then join in our 14th Annual Labor Day Yacht Race.  If you would like to participate, a list of rules and regulations is available at the sign in desk at the pool or at the front desk in the Clubhouse.  Participants must make a “boat” from cardboard and duct tape only (please no surf board designs).  The race will start at 1:00pm and will all be over by 1:05pm.  Don’t be late because it doesn’t take very long and you don’t want to miss this really fun event.  As always, all facilities will be Closed on Tuesday, September 2nd.  See you at the pool next year!

Upcoming golf events in September include the Men’s Fall Round-Up on Thursday, September 11th, the Ladies Fall guest day on Wednesday, September 17th and the Men’s Fall Shamble on Saturday, September 20th.  For more information on these events, contact the Pro Shop at 427-3947.

Labor Day weekend (which includes Labor Day, Monday, September 1st) will be the last weekend the early morning breakfast buffet on the North Porch will be available.  Also, the Seafood buffet is no longer available on Friday evenings.  But don’t worry because breakfast and dinner are always available in the Grille Tuesday through Sunday located on the lower level of the Clubhouse.  The Grille opens Tuesday through Friday at 7:15am and on Saturday and Sunday at 7:00am.  The Grille will remain open until the last golfer is off the course or a reservation has been made.  Sunday Brunch will not be affected by this change.

Jerry Broughton, our course Superintendent, and his crew are still working hard to keep the course in top shape.  As you know, this is an on-going process and takes a lot of time and care.  So please bear with them while you and they are on the course.  We would like to ask for your help while on the driving range.  If you could leave a space between your divots, it will fill in and heal faster than if you use the same spot over and over.  Also, it would be very helpful if you would replace your divots on the tees and fairways or repair them with the sand provided.  This will help in the healing process, as well as, the overall aesthetics of the course.  We thank you for your help and if at any time you have questions, Jerry will be happy to answer them for you or discuss any concerns you might have.  Thanks again.

The Board of Directors would like to thank Sara Webster for her kind and generous donation to the Twin Hills Tree Fund. Mrs. Webster has been a member for many, many years and we appreciate her thoughtfulness. Thank you again.
